How LightSpray™ is changing the game
For decades, the sportswear industry has relied on a multi-step process to create shoes for athletes and fans. But LightSpray™ changes the game. Designed for elite-level running, our robot fuses 1.5km of filament onto a high-performance racing midsole. It forms a complete shoe upper in a single, three-minute step. No glues or seams means a 75% reduction in CO₂ emissions*, compared with our other racing uppers. You’ve never seen shoes made like this before.
With LightSpray™, we created our lightest upper yet. Weighing in at just 30g, it marks a new chapter for performance running. No laces mean fewer distractions. And the second-skin fit reduces chafing, so you can focus on the miles ahead – whether it’s 26.2 or more. By pairing this revolutionary upper with a propulsive bottom unit, we created the Cloudboom Strike LS. Featuring a carbon-fiber Speedboard® between two layers of Helion™ HF hyper foam for high energy return and impact absorption. Seen on podiums in Boston, Paris, New York, and Tokyo, it’s making strides around the world.
Removing excess steps and textiles, LightSpray™ transforms raw materials into something extraordinary.
LightSpray™ technology allows for glueless bonding and involves more than seven pending patents.
We cut out all unnecessary excess and processes. Like yarn and textile formation, conventional coloration, or increased water consumption.
The result? Less waste, fewer parts…
To make our fastest, lightest shoe.
Our latest wins in LightSpray™
Athletes around the world are putting the Cloudboom Strike LS through its paces. And the results speak for themselves. When Hellen Obiri first slipped into LightSpray™ in 2024, she won Boston – arguably one of the most prestigious 26.2 miles in the world. Then she followed up with podiums in Paris and New York. Three big finishes, in just one year.
Since then, more athletes have made strides in LightSpray™. Long-distance triathlete Kristian Blummenfelt claimed the European title, while Samuel Fitwi broke the German marathon record in Valencia, running 2:04:56. Dominic Lobalu clocked 26:54 in the Valencia 10K, breaking the Swiss record in the Cloudboom Strike LS. And Sutume Asefa Kebede won Tokyo 2025, defending her title with a time of 2:16:31. We’re so proud of our athletes, and this is just the beginning …
