Our partners at Infinium use renewable power, water and captured CO2 to create eNaphtha – a cleaner alternative to processed crude oil.
CleanCloud®
From pollution to performance. Turning carbon emissions into high-performance materials.

CleanCloud® explained
What if there was another way to think about carbon emissions? Could we upcycle them to our benefit? We're on a journey to become a more sustainable brand – we want to move the industry away from fossil-based materials. With CleanCloud®, we're turning carbon waste into more sustainable shoes and apparel. But it hasn’t been an easy journey - we had to pioneer an entirely new supply chain.

It all started in 2019 with a dream. A belief we could defy the industry. And a crazy idea.
Good Chemistry
We partnered with visionary companies across biochemicals, material innovation and production processes to take CleanCloud® EVA from a bold idea to something that moves us, and the world, forward.

Moving from lab to scale. CleanCloud® meets Cloud X 5
If we’re going to dream, we’re going to dream big. If we’re going to lower our carbon impact, we’ll start with our most popular shoe.

The Cloud X 5 is On’s first major style to integrate CleanCloud® foam into the midsole. Flexible, lightweight, built to move with you. Pairing carbon capture with uncompromised performance.

Speedboard®: Made using 40% bio-based TPU from castor beans.
Outsole: 35% upcycled TPU from landfill, developed in collaboration with Novoloop.
The first CleanCloud® apparel collection
Time for a collection that's paces ahead – and heading towards a better future with our all-new running apparel. Featuring CleanCloud® polyester, made with 20% recycled carbon emissions, the Pace collection takes us another step away from virgin polyester and fossil-based materials. Did we mention it's ultrasoft? Now, you know.
Sustainability at On
We’re on a mission to create high-performance products that leave less behind. CleanCloud® is our first step in bringing commercial carbon-capture footwear to the global market. But we’re only just picking up the pace.
