As the youngest of six, Bendere Oboya always knew she'd be an athlete but wasn't sure where to start. "I watched the Rio Olympics and told myself, ‘I'll make the next one,’" she recalls. Five years later, she was at the Tokyo Olympics, racing the 400m and leading off in the 4x400m relay. Her journey has not been linear– rapid success, a World Championship semi-final, and a brief step away from the sport. Now, she’s back stronger than ever, focusing on the 800m with On Athletics Club Oceania.
