Federico Riva is a middle-distance runner hailing from Rome, Italy. Riva holds the national record for the 2000m indoor distance and has won multiple national titles at the youth level. Born and raised in Rome, Riva played football for AS Roma before former middle-distance runner Marco Mazza picked up on his atheltic talent and fell in love with running at age 13. He began competing nationally in 2015, winning the U20 Indoor Italian Championship title in the 1500m distance in 2018 and coming second in the outdoor U20 Italian championships a year later.
