Plug in to one of these podcasts as you head out for a run, or listen as you kick back in your downtime.

1. That Running Podcast

On Athlete Chris Thompson says the podcast is “the most real insight into a professional runners life out there. Just a word of warning...they don't hold back. It’s a great mixture of funny and informative stories.”

2. The Real Science of Sport

Sports scientist Professor Ross Tucker and sports journalist Mike Finch discuss a range of topics across multiple sports, from ice baths, to doping, to safer play in rugby. Featuring interviews with sports experts and athletes, Rachel Cliff recommends this podcast for anyone who’s interested in sport.

3. Runners of NYC

Leigh Anne Sharek and Chris Chavez delve into the running culture in New York City, inviting a guest to join them on each episode to share their stories as local runners. Check out the episode featuring On Athlete David Kilgore talking about his epic 100-mile run for Covid-19 relief. 

4. Headspace Radio

Headspace Radio talks to a range of guests from different disciplines and backgrounds exploring why the mind works the way it does. Weekly episodes break down the science and psychology behind human behaviors, decisions and actions with a goal to help listeners achieve their goals, find motivation and become more mindful in their everyday. 

5. TED Talks

TED offers a vast selection of thought-provoking talks given in 18 minutes or less. The diverse range of speakers represent people from all walks of life, sharing experiences, ideas, research and inspiration on a wide range of topics. Chari Hawkins finds inspiration in many of the talks, saying “it really gives me momentum when it comes to my goals and dreams”. Although the format is typically enjoyed in video format, it’s possible to download the audio on their app. Perfect if you’re listening on a run. 

6. Keeping Track

Alysia Montano, Molly Huddle and Roisin McGettigan are the three Olympic athletes hosting Keeping Track with a shared goal to shed more light on women in sport. The Olympians interview Track and Field athletes, discussing their achievements, challenges and stories. 

7. Rich Roll

After giving up an exhausting city job, Rich Roll committed to changing his focus to nutrition, health and fitness and is now a world-class ultrarunner and host of this popular podcast. Roll’s podcast is one of the most streamed worldwide, discussing health, fitness, nutrition, entrepreneurship and spirituality all with a strong wellness focus. Kirra Balmanno recommends listening to the interview with Jedidiah Jenkins – “this one gave me goosebumps as I listened”. 

8. Run To The Top

Running coach Claire Bartholic aims to motivate runners of all levels and ages to achieve their goals. Conversations with scientists, psychologists and nutritionists are sure to inspire both professionals and novice runners. 

9. Running On Om

Way ahead of the podcast game, Julia Hanlon has been hosting the Running on Om podcast since 2013, exploring the connection between mind, body and spirit. In 2019, Running On Om turned its focus to women who have committed their lives to endurance sports and the outdoors. There are more than 230 episodes available featuring conversations with authors, musicians, athletes, entrepreneurs and yogis. 

10. East Coast Trail and Ultra

A podcast by Ryan Ploeckelman and Sean Blanton covering the best races and events happening east of the Mississippi river. This one is for our East Coast US runners. A favorite from David Kilgore.

11. The Art and Science of Running

Coaches, athletes and applied scientists Malk Kent and Jacob Puzey answer questions surrounding training and racing. Questions come in from experienced athletes and beginners so there’s plenty of learning opportunities for listeners of all levels. Recommended by On Athlete Alicja Konieczek.

12. Marathon Training Academy 

When host Angie Spencer wanted to improve her health and fitness in 2008, she decided to take on her first marathon. After crossing the finish line with a number of injuries, she decided to research better ways to prepare for the race. This podcast aims to share training tips and different ways of getting in shape for a marathon, or any running race. Check out the episode with On Athlete Florian Neuschwander on his treadmill world record attempt.

13. Running for Real

Running for Real celebrates the challenges and struggles of being a runner. Guests share the highs and lows of their training and the moments and stories that shaped them. You’ll hear from sports psychologists, doctors, scientists, dietitians, elite runners, strength training coaches, running form experts and everyday runners.

14. Another Mother Runner

Another Mother Runner is a supportive and inclusive community for female runners hosted by the authors of “Run Like a Mother: How to get moving and not lose your family, job, or sanity”. The hosts and their guests share advice and practical strategies to help multitasking women find ways to include running as part of their busy life.

15. Ali on the Run Show

Ali Feller invites guests to join her in candid conversations that will make you feel like you’re hanging out with friends. Guests come from all walks of life, including archaeologists, therapists, pilots and of course athletes. Expect inspiring stories and a fascinating look into how running plays a part in different people's lives.
