On Track Nights: Track Night Vienna

Vienna's most innovative track night. Where Olympians, local run clubs and fans combine to create one midsummer special.

What's happening?

Olympians and local run clubs, festival vibes and world class racing. In its eighth year, there will be 10 pre-program races, along with live music, tasty treats and that trademark festival feel. Track Night Vienna has a history of doing things differently. This year, who knows what could happen? What's certain is that we'll have a packed program of fast events and fun activations for the entire family to enjoy. Oh and we'll have no less than six Olympic qualifying events, so you can be sure the action on the track is going to be unmissable.

Who’s racing?

The exact line up is coming soon, but get ready to cheer for top runners from all over the world. Highlights? The heat will be on in the men’s 5,000. Yalemget Yaregal of Ethiopia, is running to defend his title after setting the record for the fastest time on Austrian soil last year. Egide Ntakarutimana of Burundi will reach to better his second-place finish, while local hero Sebastian Frey from OAC Europe is upping the pace. In the men’s 3,000m steeplechase, Mohamed Amin Jhinaoui of Tunisia, ranked 18th globally, will compete against 2020 Olympian Ben Buckingham of OAC Oceania. And Francine Niyomukunzi of Burundi, who finished second in the women’s 5,000m last year, returns to chase the crown.
