LightSpray™
LightSpray™ is an ultralight technology revolutionising how we move. In just three minutes, a robot creates a precision-engineered, one-piece upper with a seamless, distraction-free fit. Less waste. Lower emissions. Lighter than humanly possible.
Check out more information about the technology here.
The LightSpray Cloudboom Strike is the first On racing shoe made with LightSpray™ technology. It features an ultra-thin, seamless and lace-free LightSpray™ upper, which is precision-sprayed for support. The result is in an exceptionally lightweight shoe weighing just 170g. Check out the product here.
In manufacturing anything, the most energy-intensive step is generating heat. With LightSpray™, heat is only needed to melt the polymer. But we've cut out all the other processes that require heat in traditional manufacturing, reducing overall energy consumption.
We're taking our robot to select cities around the world. Discover where you can experience LightSpray™ live at on.com/lightspray.
This is a real breakthrough. But it's just the beginning. Watch this space.

You can stretch the collar slightly to slip it on, but the textile-like material wraps your foot for a secure, locked-in feel. Unlike other sock-like shoes that use stretchy, elastic knit textiles, LightSpray™ gets its flexibility entirely from the unique looping of the yarn itself.
The LightSpray™ robot controls the exact thickness of the upper by adjusting the tightness and overlap of the filament loops. For example, the material is thicker around the heel to lock you in, while remaining thin and flexible across the instep. This means you get the support you want exactly where you need it.
We would recommend wearing socks. There's no lining in a LightSpray™ shoe, you stand directly on the foam, so you may want the additional layer.
