A prodigy in his native Brazil, João Fonseca is quickly becoming known around the world. In 2023, he reached the quarterfinals at the junior versions of the French Open and Wimbledon and took home his first junior Grand Slam, emerging victorious on the iconic blue courts of the US Open. He kicked 2024 off in real style as well, winning his first ATP tour match at his home tournament in Rio, and following that up by turning pro – at just 17 years old.
